The handout of the label lets me know: “These are no nice guys!”…and listening to their debut album this statement could be interpreted as really true! All songs are quite short and sometimes pass by my ear because of missing variety in structure. The voice alternates from hoarse nagging remembering of a bulldog to roaring which sounds like deer in rutting season. It reminds me of Occult sometimes.

The groove can be felt from time to time, sound is okay, although the transparency is not the best. Do not expect musical legerdemains of this 44 minutes lasting release, guitar solos are rare, the hammer of Death Metal circulates all the time!

Talking about the lyrics, a lot of blood is spilled and some zombies in union with the
Underground Bastards fight on Bloodday Sunny Bloodday for total old School death metal victory! In my opinion, there are not enough spicy ingredients in this death metallic meal, so the music does not leave a lasting impression in my mind. It sounds cool, when the band reduces speed, TOMBTHROAT are able to create nice parts then. But the principle of TOMBTHROAT is not to deliver a complex and extensive album, there are other bands who can do this. It should rumble for 16 times and that is it! Not less, not more…
