The music
played by THE MOON AND THE NIGHTSPIRIT is enwrapped by
a certain kind of mysticism, the sounds have their roots deeply
in Folk music and they are presented in emotional and filigree
manner.
On this album, the acoustic guitar sets many accents and contributes
to a felicitous album apart from the convenient unobtrusive violin.
The percussive elements create a hypnotic sound, summing up in
a heart-warm work, which is quite relaxed, but not at all wishy-washy.
In fact, the mood sometimes gets quite dark-colored like in the
song Tüzben Születö, which shows up with
choral-like voices and erupting sounds. Catchword vocals: I had
to get used to the timbre of singer Àgnes, her characteristic
way to interpret the songs can be slightly aslope. Generally,
I get the impression that the band made big efforts concerning
the build-up of harmonious vocal arrangements and succeeded in
felicitous manner.
Every now and then, the two artists take out the speed completely
and give space to only one or two instruments. Consequently, the
dynamics get boosted during the track Alkonyvaràzs.
In this case, the drums call the tune.
Towards the end, the group shows its thoughtful side and comes
up with deeply sad sentiments during the composition called Földanya
Soháya. Despite all homogeneity, there is enough space
for alternating sentiments, which offer too little contrasts in
my opinion.
Ösforrás
unfolds an unusual, impelling atmosphere and shows the passion
of the two artists, who express their heart-blood through music.
This work is made for all music addicts, who need a breather far
away from only dull alternatives. This release is pure, simple
and beautiful!
