TIERRA SANTA is also known as Spain’s answer to Iron Maiden and actually you can’t imagine the scene without them anymore. That they have deserved this status they prove again with their brand new and 5th album. On Indomable they unite again all the typical trademarks they are known for: razor-sharp riffs, an exceptional flair for melodies and above all the exceptional voice.
Indomable starts out with the outstanding opener Alas de fuego, I needed to listen to it several times in a row because of its amazing quality. But the following songs are not less resourcefully, no matter if you take the a bit faster title track, the slow and solemn Quién llora hoy por ti and the ballad Azote de Dios.
In between a proper dash of some pop stuff doesn’t has to be missed and gives the album kind of a commercial drive. But it doesn’t curtail the effort at all. In fact it is even an approach to other heavy fields and is fitting really well into the entire concept. Just listen to El canto de las Sirenas. The main part of this song also could be written by HIM (in a softer version) and the refrain reminds me strongly to Europe’s Words Of Wisdom. But because this song was on Europe‘s first ever album, just a few will know ...
However. The stamp being a clone of Iron Maiden TIERRA SANTA has deposited long time ago. In the meantime their music is too much independent, although they still range within the quite narrow frame of Heavy Metal.
For me a non-relevant fact, but maybe not everybody’s thing has to be the language. I think their songs would be even more catchy, if you could sing along all refrains. But on the other hand, their native language is a trademark and actually, if you are listen to the songs several times you can sing along, even if not in a correct pronunciation. That increases the power a lot, especially live but also in your homely living room.
I think, if TIERRA SANTA would sing in English, they could gain much more success and climb the Metal olymp. Besides, there is nothing to nag about Indomable. Music convinces completely and you also get a small special exotic bonus because of the language.

Upshot: Almost 42 minutes Metal as its best!
