If I would
write this review with the stylistic diversity as THY FINAL
PAIN use in their songwriting, I could finish my review right
here. However, Epitaph just earns a bit more estimation
than only a few words. Written by the groovy mid tempo Death Metal
feather through and through, this debut album leers at the huge
Bolt Thrower cake and impresses partly with a good pushing and
lumbering sound. But if the speed needs to change its direction,
than with the cruising radius a sloth owns. Friends of rhythmical
neck-sports-gymnastics may be pleased, 50 minutes of intense training
without any grades or gradients can be quite demanding, too. However,
I expected more of the gents Dorn and Jüttner as former members
in Debauchery than a clear production, rare doubled vocals and
a good one-dimensional performance. So, THY FINAL PAIN
sack in just 6 constant points on the scale with Epitaph.
The final pain-factor may lives up to its promise with the next
release.
