It was clear
in my opinion before I‘ve been listening to Total
Death n‘ Live for the very first time that
we couldn‘t expect a polished produced live album from the
Swedish cult death thrashers SUICIDAL WINDS.
Just because mastermind Peter Haglund and his four sidekicks have
never been sound gourmets. And so the sound on Total
Death n‘ Live is nicely raw and sounds like
pure Death/Thrash has to be. A cross section of the career of
SUICIDAL WINDS so far is offered. They are a
band who never got a record deal with a bigger label to get more
popular. There are tracks from the debut Winds Of
Death like the title-track, Wrath Of The Slaughter
and Rapehammer. Then Misanthropic Anger from
the same-titled EP. The Mangler and Morbid Temptation
come from Victims In Blood. And you
can listen to the title-track of the limited EP Crush
Us With Fire. From Wrath Of God
there are Evils Eternal Power and The Road
To Hell, followed by Demonic Prayer from the split
From Conflict To Conquest with the
Americans Gravewürm and the Aggression
demo track Suicidal Death. And finally you can expect
two cover versions (Sign Of Evil from Violent Force and
Total Death from Kreator). Primitively and brutal SUICIDAL
WINDS rage through twelve songs which has been recorded
on the Festung Open Air 2006. The Road To Hell has been
recorded in Rotterdam/Holland 2004. And the Kreator cover has
been done in the studio 2004. Evilized vocals get accompanied
by straight whipping guitars and thundering drums. So it shall
be! Total Death n‘ Live is only
for fans who love dirty Death/Thrash with a primitive production.
All the others should keep their fingers away from that live record!
