After the first two albums Hünengrab im Herbst and Srontgorrth, the label change from Kettenhund Records to Ars Metalli and the replacement of the singer, the third album of this German Black Metal band is finally released ( even if belated ).

And rawer these dudes have become. The share of blast parts is even more than before now and the keybord and piano parts are nearly banned. Merely the short instrumental track Westwall is pure electronical, besides that one, on here you will find just a few sounddots in this way in the background. Not to miss out the necessary variety at the mostly exceptional length tracks, they are furnished with a lot of pathos and bombastic riffs. The whole thing is added to by the new singer Zingultus' really wicked screeching.

So altogether a pretty brutal mixture which is served to us. And although it is too much bludgeoning for my personal taste I'm bound to certify a special fascination with Virus West. Always again NAGELFAR manage it to spell you with that cold and menacing atmosphere. The really varied songs don't let boredom come up and they garantee that this CD will still reveal new facets after the 10th listen and more. Merely the voice could be more variable, although you can still find here several parts of clean and deeper voices. Eventually the production hits the intention on the spot: this piece sounds mangy and is very compact though, but that is nothing to do with the "big" metalsounds. Here the producer Andy Classen has done an excellent work!

As a result you will find many highlights, actually each of these 7 tracks has his own charm and it is really difficult to point out a special song. Maybe Sturm der Kartharsis and Meuterei ? ... Hmm, because there is nothing to nag about artwork and lyrics too, in spite of objections in the beginning, I spread easily 8,5 points.
