Some musicians
deriving from Carinthia, calling themselves the “MELY-bunch”,
surprise with highly emotional, heart-warming metal inviting to
listen attentively – and ere I realize what happens I get
captured by the stirring presentation of these five artists.
MELY (short for melancholy) present sophisticated, acutely
enthralling songs, in which speed does not play a basic role.
Despite this fact …Leave And Enter Empty Rooms…
is a mile away from slack sounds – far from it! The musicians
apply power - similar to a lever – very efficiently. Unloading
structures are dominating, elegiac guitar harmonies and a broad
spectre of sentiments. What Am I Doing Here deals with
human lack of self-confidence and impresses as intense scream
up to the sky, the shorter track God Nowhere treats with
more aggressive feelings or I Still Ask Why bemoans a preterm
and senseless departure. MELY have the right touch for
memorable refrains, but they avoid at the same time to get shallow.
In this regard the catchy tune Fail When I Try sticks out
possessing all a composition can offer! Heart-rending, variable
and insistent vocals, powerful rhythms, wonderful guitar melodies
and a tremendous refrain enwrapped in breathtaking atmosphere.
MELY integrate a very calm middle part with gently hovering
choral chants, ere the suspense gets unloaded by a slow as well
as playful guitar solo leading further to the fantastic chorus.
Consequently the song’s motto Fail When I Try does
not count at all concerning ability in composing!
From the first minute on all music adepts get aware of the fact
that these artists play with all their heart blood, all creativity
and passion. Appreciated “MELY-bunch”, I bow
because of this enthusiasm and dedication and want to say a simple
thank you for this delightful release!
