Cock the weapon and… BOOM! Thash Metal as it’s best. Old school but with a vehemence and intensity old hero’s lack of for decades and with such a down-to-earth attitude youngsters can’t match, because they lack of those decades.
After the debut The Book Of Blood, released in 2009, GODS WILL BE DONE made themselves rather scarce and I’m afraid, the guys have first to re-establish. Musically it should not cause any difficulties; the band’s sophomore Apex Predator is once again an excellent chunk of hate that blows everything up. Every single song is fast, brutal and punching, short and put in a nutshell yet with a certain dose of groove and harmony as well as technical subtleties for well-balanced variety. Opening and title track Apex Predator might be taken representative for the whole record. I personally die for Atheist = Heretic and most of all for Black Agenda, the hymn and highlight on Apex Predator, a bow towards the Bay Area. I also like the interlude Drawn To The Fires. Might be much interesting to see where such approach would lead to completed.
As on the debut GODS WILL BE DONE again re-recoded two old demo songs and added them to the tracklist. This time it is High On Hate and I Came To Die, whereas I loved latter one already in its original version. But the new one even grows.
Thrash Metal? Oh yes baby: GODS WILL BE DONE!
