The sun is darkened when GLOSON pushes the listener into depressed depths with oppressive sounds. Hypnotic riff cascades, an apocalyptic voice and grinding rhythms leave little room for harmonious moments or sublime melodies. The Swedes are a very hard chunk and weave only marginal positive vibes in their mark-shattering compositions. The melody sequences are rather unpleasant in nature, they produce discomfort and longing for a spark of hope. You will wait for positive aspects in vain - just pitch black and desperate tearful, lava flows that are poured into riffs, always tearing you deeper into the abyss, piece by piece. The song Antlers lives from decent loud-quiet dynamics, since even very calm passages are used. On the whole, however, there is clearly a heavy weight, depressive sound with extensive instrumental sessions and minimal melody.
During the extended Cringe, bells underline the cemetery mood, the clear guitars seem like a sunbeam in the dark night. Also the elegant keyboard melody at the end monster Embodiment produces something like elegiac sublime and thus addiction character.
Be armed for a dark lump of bone-dried riffs, desperate lyrics and dark voices, which can be trapped with marginal dynamics and develops hypnotic traits. In my opinion, this release misses out surprises, but the music as a whole leaves some traces - and Grimen finally succeeds, even if not in impressive manner.
