So, who got
the fattest now, the Tardy Brothers or DRONE? Both bands
flex their muscles by presenting traction engine bristle with
tons of horse power on their cover. Of course, the modern Thrash
Metal is to contrast with the stuff made by Florida’s Death
Metal heads just limited, but in the general view the Juggernaut
may sniff at Tardy’s emissions at least. Basically the German
Wacken Metal Battle winner in 2006 does it quite right on their
third release. Their Thrash Metal work fits, the harmonies and
melodies are placed well, breakdowns detach penetrating, powerful
and melodious vocals. But the modern Thrash Metal, heavy on Machine
Head, acts too uniform over the whole playing time. It’s
just No Pattern with its Rap vocals and Drum’n’Bass
style which whittles itself out of the else exchangeable sounding
tracks. This is what belittles the higher-than-average manual
accomplishment shown on Juggernaut unfortunately.
But if DRONE wanna reach a really good position in judge’s
scale ear-catcher and a convincing overall picture is indispensable.
So horse-power traction engine’s bumper “just”
collects hats off scratches instead of melting down the sonic
barrier.
