Deliberately and dreamily DREAM UNENDING lead us with Entrance into their atmospheric album Tide Turns Eternal, before an abyssal voice and tough riffs open the dark round. A depressing, ice-cold and at the same time melodically sublime scenario spreads out and wraps the listener in an ambivalent cloud of sound.
The duo does not set any speed records, already persists for the most part in apparent lethargy, but an underlying aggression hovers menacingly over the compositions. Delicately integrated organ sounds emerge during an extended instrumental passage, then a lone guitar riff glides relaxed through the ether, just before the pent-up tension breaks free in a contrastingly accelerated and bitingly angry intermezzo.
The artists use the gothic and uniform voice rather sparingly, however, this is pleasantly complemented by a narrative passage in the course of Dream Unending and later even gets company for a short time by a female voice, whereby the structure of the epic finale Tide Turns Eternal gains momentum.
A wonderfully dreamy work peppered with aggressive overtones immerses the listener in an atmospheric roller coaster of emotions: both relaxed lost in thought and suddenly shaken up in between, this album leaves lasting traces in the emotional nerve center.
