That’s old school death metal how it should be, provided with well- balanced as well as transparent sound and firm songs offering a lot of cool melodies and parts to bang one’s head. This is driving music and suitable to be listened to along the way – nevertheless there is a certain claim to get in closer touch with this Virus Of Violence.
From time to time DESENSITISED speed up, but there is no chance for chaos to take over command. Singer Wilbert’s voice is powerful and brutal, he is supported by female guitarist Susan in parts of the vocal performance; quasi secondary she worms out nice chords and melodies out of her instrument. Dennis (Severe Torture) makes an allowance in the last but one song Sacred Slaughter to give additional intensity to the vocal expression.
All tracks last about three minutes - they come to the point without loop ways. All of them inheres a fresh, almost punk-like attitude. This atmosphere is conducive for good mood and develops a lot of pressure crushing forward permanently – but that’s no wonder for me: Andy Classen is responsible for mastering.
This virus is decided for all of those who don’t appreciate complex-technical Metal, but don’t want to miss instrumental acquirements just as little. I like DESENSITISED best in times when they don’t press the acceleration pedal to the limit stop, because the intensity level is boosted by this approach. Speed is not everything, but the band did realize this and takes out the pace sometimes for the benefit of a snappy chapter, well done in the partly dragging Martyr. After this breather the cudgel rules again in controlled chaos. I want to expose Introspective Exploration which is blessed with an explosive introducing guitar chord; in addition to that I can listen to the best melody here. The Virus Of Violence got me under control and it is great fun – this is the principal thing, even though nothing revolutionary new but “only” half an hour of old school death metal is offered :)
