The first few bars are powerfully pushing out of the loudspeakers and you can't help but let yourself be carried away by the extremely groovy and at the same time fast-acting mixture of DESDEMONIA, which were unfortunately unknown to me until now. The first piece, Reaper Of Souls, also shines with a chorus to sing along, whereas the title track Anguish enchants with a wonderfully harmonic clear guitar middle section. The band knows very well, however, that constant full throttle is exhausting and inspires with the powerful pushing Cross The Line, even if the tempo is not always pushed into dizzying regions, although high speed is the order of the day. Harsh changes of beat, melodic guitar runs and a beautifully embedded pole of silence let your fists go to the sky fast and animate you to join in.
The release continues in this stirring key, the rattling riffs and powerful drum salves attack the ears of the unsophisticated listener, then the guys beat out a shimmering solo, and shortly afterwards they act mercilessly planning again. Enriching details such as the harmonious introduction of Revenge or finely woven rhythm breaks testify to great composing skills. Suitably enough, Abysmal comes across a bit darker and scores with grooves that move directly into the neck muscle with almost orgiastic instrumental escapades. The songs blow furiously to the attack, time to catch your breath remains during the cleverly reduced passages, which only additionally provide the forward pushing bars with penetrating power.
After the intensive enjoyment of Anguish I snatch my breath, try to get my crumbled neck vertebrae as well as the destroyed hairstyle back in shape again and tear the scorecard with the last bit of strength, close to the highest score... hell yeah, damn strong!
