DECEIVER, founded only a little more than 2 years ago by ex Mortician Dead – members Pete Flesh (ex – Maze Of Torment), Crille Lundin and Flingan, seem to be work-a-holics, as Holov Posen Tro May Trot is already their third release. They lost former singer Destormo (Maze Of Torment, Serpent Obscene) and as they could not find a new front man in time, band leader Pete Flesh himself has now taken over that job. The new stuff is a bit more aggressive than it used to be, but it is still Thrash Metal with a strong touch of Motörhead, Sodom and some Death Metal elements (first of all concerning the raw barking of Mr. Flesh). Ancient God and Inhaling Toxication kick ass without any compromise and also the other songs are straight rockers without any big surprises, unfortunately even without little surprises which makes the CD rather monotonous. Riffs, leads and drums are not exactly full of ideas and you know the breaks before you hear them. But the production is really well-done and the energy level is more than that. Just pure aggression! But I think they should take more time for the next record and try to create more variation. Then I will certainly give them more than 7 points.
