DARZAMAT
play a diversified kind of Metal, which is not easy to describe.
Many different elements and moods could be interesting for a huge
target group, but the enormous richness on details and ideas has
eventually got a negative effect on the band’s orientation.
The compositions
all breathe a mystical atmosphere; I can feel a vampire-like sentiment.
A convenient female voice performs a big part of the vocals besides
a harsh growling counterpart. Musically, the band oscillates between
orchestral pathos, melodic Black- and stomping Dark/Gothic-Metal
sounds. Four short interplays are placed among the songs and contribute
a downright symphonic touch. A few catchy melodies flash through
and on the scale of heaviness DARZAMAT reach average heights.
The band focuses on atmospheric structures, but is at the same
time far away from kitschy sugar compositions.
One of the best compositions is the first one called False
Sleepwalker including a nice refrain and whispered introducing
vocals. Afterwards, the group turns to a melodic Black Metal path
and speeds up. Fortunately, the musicians do not cudgel through
their program without sense, cool changes prove that fact. Yeah,
DARZAMAT do it well, but very bombastic – besides
the unwieldy and hard-to-take, slightly aslope harmonies that’s
the reason why the lightning spark does not set me aflame. There
are some brownies for sure like the impelling attack Final
Conjuration or the felicitous title track with a fantastic
ending. In addition, the dramatic song King Of The Burning
Anthems sticks out. .
Solfernus’
Path features bombastic, complex and average hefty music,
but the actual work got only a handful of outstanding tunes, rhythms
or refrains. The sound is full of details and blessed with wonderful
ideas, but the bulky songs’ structures avoid a downright
commendation. Sometimes less pathos means more joy in listening!
