Long time
ago, the predecessor L’Empire Des Sens saw
the light of day... AD INFERNA dedicated their sound to
a melodic kind of Black Metal, but in the year 2009, the band
is far away from their roots and performs danceable, catchy tunes,
entitled as EBMetal from the label, which frightens me…not
without cause I have to say!
Electronic elements dominate the sound nowadays, which is made
for the discos of this earth. Of course the material is very catchy
and some tunes get an own touch by the use of French language,
but I really dislike the dominance of synthesizers and the adoption
of distorted female vocals. In addition, the refrains seem to
be composed in exaggerated catchy manner. Interim, we can listen
to tralala happy sound, which takes away all demand from the music.
The band tries to create dark sentiments, but fails most of the
time. In my opinion, the mixture sounds better, if the musicians
speed up a little bit, like they do in the track SM For SM,
which gets faded out just during the best part unfortunately.
Therefore, the impression of an incomplete composition stays.
The easy going song You As My Own Drug turns out to be
a catchy tune. In this case, the synthetic sounds let teeter the
fingertips automatically. That’s nice, but without demand.
In the end, it gets really tough for me. A few remixes leave only
one possibility for me: open the door and run away as fast as
I can :) - I send over nice greetings to France, please avoid
any kind of that stuff next time!!! Merci bien!
The main problem of AD INFERNA is the (missing) claim of
their music, because it gets swept away by mass compatible easiness.
Besides, the guitars are shamefully underrepresented. All those,
who look out for a dance-album, this one will make you happy –
all metalheads should keep their hands off Trance’n
Dance.
