Well, what
might the Hardcore community think of this release?! This album
has to be reviewed out of bifocal perspectives: 1. the commercial
view and 2. the musical angle of view. Let’s start with
first one: those of you who observed the history and the evolution
of WALLS OF JERICHO know that this band was able to establish
themselves in the Hardcore scene because of excessive touring.
These days they burst the stages with top acts like Sick Of It
All or Napalm Death in 2008. Released as their first album back
in 1999 The Bound Feed The Gagged returns as a re-release
without any bonus stuff or technical arrangements. Money smells?
Even if the first pressing is sold out (I don’t know if
it’s so), the fast earned money has certainly its inherent
smell. The music dished on The Bound Feed The Gagged
by the band around front gal and front roar Candace Kucsualin
is absolutely ok and a success of esteem. To be contrary to the
following releases All Hail The Dead, From
Hell and With Devils Amongst Us All their
debut sounds more rough and Hardcore than Metal than the latter
ones. Definitely, it’s Candace Kucsulain who is significantly
involved. She screams, nags and barks until her lung turns inside
out. She is the reason for snotty kick. Some breakdowns, partly
rampant song writing and some hard kick-ass riffs suffice to create
pit suitable 22 minutes.
There are enough reasons to buy this album but there are also
some against WALLS OF JERICHO’s debut album. Those
who are crazy about the development of the sound technical possibilities
from 1999 until 2008 will be pleased by this album definitely.
