Not too long ago, a friend recommended me to listen to a band named VISION DIVINE. "Oh my god, power metal!", I thought, but surprisingly was really impressed after I had heard one of their songs. It was God Is Dead from their new album The Perfect Machine. Shortly after I received a promo copy of the whole album and since then I am really carried away by this band. Taking a look at the more than cheesy cover-artwork I would never ever have touched this CD, however, when you start listening to their songs, you easily get addicted. What this Italian band creates is a perfect mixture of melodic metal with a right-dosed use of prog-elements. Produced by Timo Tolkki (Stratovarius) The Perfect Machine is furthermore furnished with a perfect sound, making the 9 tracks of this concept-album a feast for the ears. Whatever song you listen to, it simply blows you away with mesmerizing guitar-harmonies, powerful vocals and cool (and well arranged) keyboards. With their fourth effort VISION DIVINE (with former members of Labyrinth and Eldritch in their rows) show that is still possible to create fresh albums within the melodic metal genre. You can’t imagine? Well, the check out The Perfect Machine and it will prove you wrong!
