The Oncoming Storm was produced by Adam Dutkiewics, and you can hear that.
Though not being an imitation, UNEARTH sound similar to the metalcore gods Killswitch Engage.
Hard, modern metal with a slight harcore attitude, nice melodies and brutal vocals, improved with an excellent production. Well, a killer-song like Rose Of Sharyn or When Darkness Falls (from KSE's …Heartache release) can't be found on The Oncoming Storm, instead the music is endowed with a higher level of aggression. False Idols, The Oncoming Storm, Failure – just listen and you'll know what I mean.
UNEARTH is best when this aggression and power is concentrated to a brutal breakdown, only waiting to be released again by a sudden fast and hart uptempo riff. Endless or the already mentioned False Idols take no prisoners and are a final hit against the stupid NuMetal-stuff. Great work!
