This band doesn't care about genre boundaries or a conventional way of composing. Heavy Metal soli, doomy passages, chaotic full steam parts, dirty rock, bulky melodies and vocal variety are wildly mixed. An unusual phrasing and the mostly quite fast performance of the extensive lyrics are noticeable in the vocals. Wonderfully melodic solos flash through from time to time amidst the unpredictable songs, then there are melancholic echoes or introverted gliding sequences to be heard. Sometimes you literally wait for an outbreak and in The Third Thought From The Sun, the accumulated tension unloads in intense blasts and fast shouted poisonous vocals, followed by a headbang part for a well-rounded finish.
Ambient-like sounds give the dynamic curve of this album a boost during the interlude Sapiens Formulae despite or because of his calm approach; so the following Through Eyes Of The Omnipresent seems more aggressive and biting. The somewhat hard to digest rhythm is balanced by a short solo before a doomy melancholy, punk vibes and melodic black metal meet heroic lead melodies. Much happens and the music seems hard to consume and experience, the blinkers have to be removed and a certain stylistic openness is necessary, but worthwhile.
I pay THIRD STORM great respect for the courage to sit between all chairs, the wild mix of styles is packed into good compositions, which are not suitable for disdainful background sound. However, those who take up the challenge to unravel the colorfully mixed song structures will discover a variable and demanding work with depth!
