Surpirse! The latest CD Memoirs of THIRD AND
THE MORTAL sounds totally different from everything they did
before. I can hardly remember such an extreme change by any other
group. This release has nothing in common wih their atmospheric
and melodic Goth-Metal from Tears Laid In Earth
or Painting On Glass. THIRD AND THE
MORTALs sound five years after In This Room
reminds me in a way of Portishead. Nevertheless one can't say
that the Norwegian band doesn't have an unique sound. The songs
are unwieldly and have an atmospheric character. It is defintely
sombre and melancholic, eletronic too, but there are also guitars.
The result is in no way bad, but the old fans surely will check
if they have the right cd in their CD player.
