Good, old Swedish Death sends greetings from Stockholm! THE UGLY unite everything a Metal CD needs: tons of speedy attacks without being chaotic, a moldy and stinking atmosphere, egregious melody runs and sufficient variation.
The simple, but moody black-white booklet mirrors the music adequately, showing Naglfar and Marduk as influences, but thanks to Lucifer - THE UGLY do not set their sole focus on the speed-card. Some layered guitar walls enthuse during Black Goat and a dirty Rock’n’Roll attitude enriches the scenery additionally. Melodic guitars get combined with driving rhythms and a simple refrain finds its way to my moldered commemoration easily.
Slight speed variations just right in time prevent boredom showing ability in arranging; all fists of Watain fans should be stretched towards the sky in enthusiasm while enjoying the zippy track Legio Mihi Nomen Est. An impellent guitar solo and rhythmic variation intertwine with an intense but easy to understand voice, there can´t go anything wrong!
Infernal tempo attacks and melodic finesses are amalgamated in awesome manner in course of the composition Cult Of Weakness. An intense chorus refines Slumber Of The God and nicely integrated groovy parts contribute to the emotional musical experience additionally. Afterwards, the title track Decreation associates fast-as-an-arrow rhythms with moderately throttled elements and awesome guitar fillers in the background, which leave nothing to be desired – that´s the way dark high-grade steel must sound like! Finally, the last two pieces Nibiru and Lögnerna Till Aska (last one with Swedish lyrics) carburize the fantastic overall picture of a diverting and detailed album!
