The extinction of hairspray/cock rock started with the begin of the Grunge era, and that was good so. Nobody wanted to know anything about bands like L.A. Guns, Poison or THE QUIREBOYS.
But now everything has changed? No way! With the Scandinavian Rock explosion where some bands try to combine styles of the Glam Rock era (e.g. Backyard Babies) it seems buried bands from the cemetery could be able to reanimate themselves in order to get some pieces of the cake.
THE QUIREBOYS are such a band: take 80’s hairspray rock, take some bluesy elements, try to sing like Robert Plant and Bon Scott at once and you got it. But don’t try to write good songs. Horrible.
Perhaps fans from bands like Alice Cooper, Thunder or Guns’N’Roses will like that. I think, I prefer my Led Zeppelin records.
