Loud, rough, filthy, Punk’n’Roll! That’s it! And don’t use THE HELLECTRIC with less than volume 12 ;)
Founded back in 2005 this trio consists of Gene Slix (drums), Caspar Phoenix (bass & vox) and Josi Mattox (vox & guit). Latter one you might know from playing guitars in The Vision Bleak. Didn’t know that Josi can sing that boozy and wickedly ;) It’s like to hear out every single bottle of Jack D. Anyway, it doesn’t wonder that this debut was recorded at Klangschmiede Studio E with mastermind Markus Stock. And so it sounds: hard as bone and fucking asskicking!
The Hellectric crushes in with The Queen Of Neonlight, topped by the grandiose Très Satanique right after. At The Crown and Alone Soul Naked the guys slow down pace a little. No need for! Fast and furious rules! And so does Greed & Lies (especially its beginning ;)), Tighta! and closing track Silverbullet Souvenir ;)
What immediately comes in mind as relation is German band Gorilla Monsoon. Just leave the Doom/Southern-part aside. By the way, these both bands sharing stage would be killer.
The Hellectric is a hell of an entertaining piece of music. With its 25 minutes of running time it’s a bit short for a full-length but hey, the repeat-button helps and this record doesn’t get boring, just let it run. Totally wicked, love it!
