Horrible!
Simply horrible! Facing the band’s name, one could misunderstand
this as an honor. But in fact, with Pleasure &
Pain we have nothing but musical clichés
from the first to the last chord.
This impression doesn’t change after 5 attempts to listen
to this CD. Alone the attempt remains. On their seventh longplayer
the Italians celebrate an uninspired litany: synth-strings and
sawing guitars as back in ‘96, totally pretentious suffering
female vocals, and lyrically a deep grip into the rubbish-dump:
Rape me, fuck me – Oh, please!
Because of the bad production, I even cannot discover any exceptions.
Songwriting mark F. Sit down, again! Not hymn-like enough for
Gothic, and way too tame for black-metal
Rock’n’Roll definitely is something different. And
if THIS shall be considered as theatre, then at least as a cheesy
vaudeville!
