I must admit: despite of my journalistic duties I could not listen thru this entire CD. What my ears had to stand to – without warning – is really an unbounded cheek. Honestly: my own first recording sessions (with a 70’s battery-running cassette recorder in front of the left box of my mum’s mono hi-fi to record Judas Priest, Accept and the Scorpions at Mel Sundocks hit parade) sounded much better than this un-production from a one-man project called TEASER, added by an absolutely cruel singing of Thomas Murmann that consequentially was put too much in the foreground. I hope Thomas, you have been drunk while recording this shit, then you at least have an acceptable excuse (but not for having sent it out). If one can hear out anything else than one will get aware of oddly tuned guitars and strange shredding ranging within very simple songwriting. That all reminds me of ultra-ancient Thrash demo tapes, combined with the attempt to undercut the sound quality of early Bathory and Hellhammer records. And yes, TEASER succeed.
But the most absurd thing is a phrase from the info: “The one-man-project TEASER has committed itself to good old New Wave Of German Heavy Metal” So what? New or old? Or better bad instead of good? Anyway, I think one has to deal carefully with the term “New Wave”; and in this matter it is a mockery, good old German Thrash Metal does not have deserved that!
