COVENANT, DEINE LAKAINEN, PHILIP BOA, KILLING JOKE or NIGHTWISH are bands, who also have success in the official charts. But you seldom or never have a chance to watch them on TV. But fortunately there is the SCHATTENREICH for some time now, which is broadcasted every Sunday on Onyx.TV. You can see the videoclips there, but also specials, live-gigs and interviews. But unfortunately you can watch SCHATTENREICH only via satellite transmission or with certain technical requirements. But there’s a consolation for all the others: A double-CD and a DVD, both full of the bands who were seen in SCHATTENREICH. More interesting is of course the DVD: On one hand, there are 21 video clips across all fields of dark music – from WITHIN TEMPTATION and IN EXTREMO via AND ONE and PLACEBO to MARILYN MANSON and TYPE O NEGATIVE. Besides that, you can find some interviews, e.g. of APOCALYPTICA, HIM or WOLFSHEIM, often completed with unplugged scenes or special features. So there’s no need to gripe for anyone - although some not so well-known tracks would have made the CD a little bit more interesting. The double-CD with 34 tracks contains only studio tracks. There are lots of current songs, but also some older pearls such as ESCAPE WITH ROMEO's Somebody. But, it’s a little bit arbitrarily when you find so many well-known hits under the current tracks – e.g. WOLFSHEIM’s Kein Zurück. Nice, but if you have to choose, take the DVD.
