Once again there is a compilation with a lot of interesting bands, able to creep out of the underground. This time the compilation is called Escape From The Ghetto Vol.1 and there are 19 bands from Italy on it with a big range of different styles mostly beside the conservative genres. Concerning the first few songs there are a lot alternative and rock tunes to hear. From these bands is RAFFAELLO SIMEONI the most impressive one, who can impress the listeners with his flute tunes. The next few songs are much more into the NU-Death / Thrash direction with a lot of short but brutal HC-Riffs. Soulfly is the band which comes to my mind very often with these kind of bands. At the end CIAFF is able to mix these Nu-elements with a bit more Old-School Death Metal, which pleases me a lot more. From the rest of the bands I would like to mention EVISCERATE who are able to mix aggression and melody quite well in their Death / Thrash Metal and KILLING CREED which remind me very much at the German band Tremors in the way, they combine keyboards with good Death Metal.
Generally I can recommend this compilation to all people who are bit more into the HC- / Nu- / Rock scene. Old school lovers should be a bit cautious, because there I not so much stuff for them.
