A first cut-out of their labelprogram is what Locomotive Music present with their Classic Video Collection Part 1. The Spain-based label who also has international acts like Prong or Before The Dawn under contract, seems to give priority to their national roaster in this first part. Besides the already well-known(?) MÄGO DE OZ who just received platin(!) in their homecountry, lots of groups are being featured that do not even sound familiar to us with their names. From TIERRA SANTA to HAMLET, SIN CITY SIX, BOIKOT or PORRETAS, there can hardly be found anything “reasonable” on this sampler. Furthermore most of the bands have a quite “Rock”-sound, only from time to time drifting a bit into the “Metal”-corner. With METALIUM, the already split-up MEDICATION and ELEGY only three expressive names are represented. METALIUM’s Fight is a live-video of various concerts whereas MEDICATION (with Whitfield Crane, ex-Ugly Kid Joe) and prog-metallists ELEGY are shown in passable studio-productions. The rest of the videos are mostly edited live-vids, unsensational but nevertheless okay. Anyway, in these parts it does not matter at all, since you can possibly count the buyers on one hand ;)
Bottom line: nice compilation, but far too much customized on the Spanish market. A complete separation – Spanish/International - would have been a much better idea...
