This CD has to be a French underground sampler. The first band is MALESTROM with the song Inner Most Commotion, they offer a solid but not so intoxicant composition of Black and Death Metal and there’s a really jazzy enclosure at the end. Referring to this, the band HERESY offer a raw and unmixed version of the song called Blast, which cannot hold on with this very shitty sound. The next song comes from the band KRONOS, called Haterealm, it’s a very fast and technical song, good bass sound and a very sophisticated song structure. Now it’s the turn of the band PSYCHOBOLIA with the song called Faust, very fast riffing and cool blast attacks, but very ineffectual. The next song called Vortex from HYPNOSIS is not as brutal as the previous number, it sounds quite self contained (with female vox) but the sound is really bad. HAERESIS is the next and their song is called Trampling Of The Reason, if the sound were good it would be a great number - but in this way: no way! The song Eternal Torments from the band AGNOSYS follows, it's a very long song and its really inaccessible. The longest number of this sampler has to be the song Incarnation Divine from the band TOBM, it sounds really chaotic with a very bad sound. The next one is very thrashy - it comes from the band OSTRACIZED and is called Follower Of Another Country - it's kind of cool but there no real pressure behind the sound which makes it very weak. Hardened In The Tears Of Their Will is the next song from the band ETERNAL, its a solid presentation - good riffing but a bloody bad sound. The next number YORBLIND - Torture Souls - begins with a catchy acoustic guitar intro but ends in a chaotic massacre and destroys the whole mood it has created with the intro. The next song is VEHEMENS’ Massgrave Of Souls, its a mid-tempo song but its really ineffective -> bad sound. Next one: KABBAL - Extra Sensoriel Journey begins with a mystic intro, but the really bad triggered drums destroy the whole intro and the song ends in an average Death Metal song. The next song is a melodic one: TREPALIUM - The Worst, it’s so to say the highlight of the entire sampler! The last song of this compilation is called Tas De Chiennes and comes from RECUEIL MORBIDE, it’s a really sick Black/ Death Metal composition.
To summing it all up: I only can say that the bigger part of the bands have a really bad sound but they have the potential to own acceptation with a better sound! Its good to see that France has many bands in this genre but no band is really better than average! Time will tell ;-)
