What can be said about band is that they have a different approach when it comes to the mix of vocals and music together. Being new to this type of style of music it was ear catching and thought provoking. SHADOWS DANCE started by Dimitris (guitars) in 1998 with hopes to start a symphonic death metal outfit, but with progression with sound the death component subsided and made way for more atmospheric elements that make SHADOWS DANCE original. Offering cathedral like tones varied with techno beats along with choir like vocal chant arrangements give listener something fresh to hear. Licking The Limbs Of Abyss gives insight to one of the many sides of SHADOWS DANCE musically. Band excels lyric wise bringing more clarity to musical approach. Deep-rooted atmospheric dwelling enters the beginning of Swathe Me Into Illusions bestowing the gift of emotion, as music takes on a life of its own. Melodic vocals enhance what SHADOWS DANCE seems to lack in areas but is eager to make way for a distinctive resonance when viewed more closely. Been labeled atmospheric metal with symphonic elements band shows something other bands of their kind desire to achieve at their level. Composition at its best if done well with words that convey fundamentals of sentiment within music. A Quatrain For The Damned album shows seriousness of band that is going to travel to new places with the realms of the shadows itself. Well done.
