The Polish Progressive Rock sensation RIVERSIDE decided to reissue their debut EP Voices In My Head on InsideOut. Those of you who do not know this band should know that they play music which is roughly comparable to the slower Opeth songs, if not a little more ambient. Because the EP is not very long, RIVERSIDE enhanced the CD by adding three live tracks and a video for the song Acronym Love, which also is the strongest track on the disc. Voices In My Head sounds very professional for a first release and is highly recommended to everyone who is into Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, Opeth, Camel other psychedelic/emotional Prog bands. The vocalist Mariusz Dudas has an awesome voice and the guitar playing by Piotr Kotzieradzki, often accompanied by beautiful piano parts, truly reminds of the great heroes of Prog history. This release is difficult to describe in its entirety as it is very quiet, slow and difficult. So I guess the best thing is to give it a try, even though it is only about 40 minutes long (what a shame!).
