A
masterpiece. This is the conclusion you will come to while listening
to the new album of the very special band QNTAL.
On their fourth album Qntal IV – Ozymandias
the trio presents 13 fully developed tracks – each of them
is a piece of art. In contrast to the last album the new work has
more electronics again and can be consumed easier – of course
it’s nevertheless no music for ironing or to do the laundry.
You can find the well-known mixture of medieval sounds and electronics,
which unfold their magic with Sigird Hauens wonderful voice. The
first tracks are quieter – already the opener All For
One convinces the listener of the qualities of the band: First
you can hear Sigrid Hausens voice, before the solemn music start.
And it’s essential here as well as for all QNTAL
tracks: It’s worthy to listen thoroughly. The songs have very
many details and are fully developed, each note sounds perfect,
each sound unfolds its own beauty. In the middle of the album the
music gets faster and is more danceable: Cupido for example
is a fast, drum-orientated track with lots of violins, atmosphere
and a men’s choir. Flamma and Amor Volat
are also faster tracks.
And again: A masterpiece. |
