Let’s
start with the resume. It is not the reinvention of Power Metal,
what is shown by PARAGON here. This is rather a collage
of many different bands, spiced with some own ideas. Sounds disgusting?
It is not! These guys do what Manowar and Virgin Steel haven’t
done for a good while: Writing good songs. And both bands on one
CD, as to be heard in Agony and Souleater. But also
songs like Hammer Of The Gods or Arise, sounding
like Grave Digger respectively Blind Guardian can be found on
Forgotten Prophecies. Everything with a good name
in Power Metal can be found on the record from the German quartet.
And there lies the reason why this CD is above average. Ok, not
much, but if you put this CD in your stereo on a party, it is
possible to let it run through. Especially since Deny The Cross
marks not only the end of the CD but also a secret hit. So metal
heads, if you like typical Power Metal riffing, good vocals, head-bang-able
passages and more or less catchy choruses, get your ears to this.
