And again a CD from the southern lands ends up on my desktop.
Actually, NIGHTSIDE should have grown out of
the demo phase. But, unfortunately they lost their deal again,
before they could record their debut CD. Not to disappear from
the scene in the meantime, the 5 mates decided to record Shadows
Weaver own and make it public.
On this EP you will find 6 tracks, which are far away from their
early Dissection / At The Gates influenced roots.
Nowadays they present progressive Death Metal. I would like to
refer to In Flames. The individual songs stay catchy and comprehensible,
so not to get out of hand in complicated guitar hooks, but are
still pretty varied. They vary in singing as well as in speed.
Brutal Death Metal parts alternating with quiet and progressive
sequences. 3 songs are running longer than 6 minutes, this is
bad, because these tracks have weak-points. The guys don't seem
quite experienced enough at this point to create songs on a constant
high level. For sure it still will take a lot of sweat and sore
fingers, but the guys are on their way.
