Well... another someone ... has listened ... too often to Carcass.
Directly the opener Paradise Beach ( wich you also can
find on the Rock Hard Unerhört sampler Vol. 8 ) remainds
me a lot of Heartwork. But now, I have to raise my finger immediately.
Whoever expects a brutal masterpiece like Carcass is fairly wrong.
Nevertheless Trend Cemetary emerges
as a very interesting album though. It offers a cool mix of Thrash-
and Death Metal with Power Metal styled singings at the refrains
and diverse influences in the song structures. Sounds strange
now, but it is fitting well anyway. The more so that the growls
of singer Tobias Geisel sounds completely in a different way than
his clean sung parts in the refrains. The album is well-varied,
speedy crushing tracks that alternate with the more quiet songs
and you will find always again typical Carcass riffs ... which
it is not soooo bad *lol *. The production doesn't have to hide
also. The whole thing sounds powerful and comes over well.
Certainly, there something to do better. MIND-ASHES
can't keep an uniformal high level through all tracks. The one
or the other track has it's weak point. Also that cover leaves
much to be desired. But, what it is not now, can come true ...
Stupidly, the singer and one of the guitarists Markus Bieker called
it quits again, which will set the band back alot again. It is
a pity!
MIND-ASHES come from Marburg and delivered with
Trend Cemetary their second album now.
