| Once
again cult label Darkcell Digital Music attracted my attention for
a band I never have heard anything about before: MIDNIGHT
SYNDICATE. Their edited version of Vampyre on
the label‘s site was impressing me so much that I not only
bought the latest album Vampyre – Symphonies From
The Crypt but also their other albums (except the
first one) have found its way into by CD shelf.
MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE create soundtracks. Soundtracks
for the imagination. Like the album title implies: this time the
main theme are vampires. Unleash your darkest nightmares as
you enter the world of the Vampyre. Echoing from ancient crypts,
these haunting symphonies call forth the horror, mystery, and passion
of the night that awaits you ...
14 parts, unbelievable dark and atmospheric will accompany you through
whatever of scenery you are incubating in your mind. The dark menace
of hunting demons out from the shadows of your past, the erotically
pricking when the nocturnal hunters of your dreams reveal themselve,
knowing that the bittersweet embrace of death is awaiting you, transforming
you into a hunter too, eternally captured in cold nights. When desire
and fear tear you up internally and yearnings burn you out. Nothing
is real and everything’s allowed.
The musical theme in Winged Fury is pretty familiar to
me, even if I don’t know exactly where from. It sounds classical
and reminds me of Danny Elfman. The same at Blackest Rose
which I funnily associate with Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocelli.
Of course, Vampyre has this special touch
only Americans can create. This certain degree of dramatic art,
a little of kitsch, bombast and sort of mainstream trend. All the
stops get pulled out in terms of stylistic means to offer this special
and amazing atmosphere.
Those who like to create wild romantically nights or like to give
the last kick to one’s depression should listen to MIDNIGHT
SYNDICATE and their album Vampyre – Symphonies
From The Crypt. Musical dramatic art which creeps
under your skin!
You
can order this masterpiece via Darkcell Digital Music in Europe
or via the band’s own label Entity Records and every well-assorted
mailorder in the States.
