Used, Abused, And Left For The Dead is the fifth release in the career of the American extreme death metal act LIVIDITY, and their best one so far. Why? That’s very simple! Mastermind Dave Kibler and his three fellows have created brutal songs and gave them an own note. Ok, as they’ve released their debut Till Only The Sick Remain back in 2002 there it was clear to see that they were not the next Cannibal Corpse clone. But nowadays LIVIDITY sound much more brutal as they did five years ago. The arrangements are much more confusing than on their debut. I would like to say that Used, Abused, And Left For The Dead is on the same level such as bands like Cephalic Carnage and Origin. But this applies only for the music and the kind they use the vocals. Lyrically they work with very extreme sexgore fantasies, which are definitely nothing for sensitive minds. Those who have been disgusted from the lyrics of Butchered At Birth from Cannibal Corpse should keep his fingers away from LIVIDITY. Song-titles like Raped For Rent, Exhibition Of Carnage or the very brutal title-track speak a clear language. Surely you can have a different opinion about that kind of lyrics, but that’s no reason to act like Alice Schwarzer and condemn the band to hell where all genital organs of the musicians have to burn! It’s obvious that LIVIDITY create their lyrics with a subtle sense of humor. And we should consume their lyrics the same way.
