„Less
speed but at the same time more intensity“– this could
be the credo for LEGACY OF HATE. The band from Upper Austrian
capital Linz conjures the one or other benevolent smile upon my
face with Unmitigated Evil. Some reasons for this
reaction are the fabulous groove, fine elaborated melodies and
a measured portion of aggression.
With first song Wake Up the musicians manage to create
an effect which drags the listener along from the first second
on. Thereby the guys from Steel City operate in mid tempo style
for most of the time. Impelling chords and explosive rhythms as
well as a fast sung refrain dominate the programmatic entitled
When Chains Are Breaking. Now all boundaries concerning
enthusiastic reactions break down and my thumbs go straight upwards.
This is caused by several speedy attacks in between caring for
dynamic sound alternation in LEGACY OF HATE’s repertoire.
In addition the phat and dense sound enthuses and could ignite
an impressing spark live on stage. Surprisingly the artists offer
unpredictable clean vocals during the track A Moment Of Secrets.
In further course I appreciate that this stylistic device stays
a decorative and effective attachment.
LEGACY OF HATE use different speeds, spanning their repertoire
from stomping to snappy and twinkle-toed thrashed compositions
without missing out catchiness with style. After 8 compact tracks
which leave much space for unfolding many ideas, the overall view
evolves: Unmitigated Evil is a homogenous high-class
album with a lot of fulminant moments and furious melodies as
well as variable vocals including core-like timbre and clear pitches.
Well done!
