Those of you
who keep the last tunes of the Enemy Of God world
tour secret in your core can keep the flame blazing until the
next KREATOR release in January 2009. The fuel for the
fire is guaranteed by the legendary live recording in East Berlin
1990 (75:30 min), the documentation The Past And Now (17:23
min) and the director’s cut of Hallucinative Comas
(23:38 min) titled At The Pulse Of Kapitulation –
Live In East Berlin 1990.
Right, the first Metal concert after the fall of the wall that
was played together with Tankard, Coroner and Sabbat was released
on VHS already. But Mille was caught in a crossfire of people
who where part of the crowd, so the decision was felt to catch
the former mood, the energy and this piece of history and to represent
it in a modern way. And the result is definitely worth seeing.
Mille and Niels Folta have digitalized the old material up-to-date
and Andy Sneap mixed the tracks in 5.1 sounds. The set list right
across Endless Pain, Pleasure To Kill,
Extreme Aggression and Terrible Certainty
bangs much more and when the wrecking ball Riot Of Violence
is introduced one wish to be there! The DVD is boxed up by a CD
that includes the whole concert. So, KREATOR saves the
long running effect after DVD sessions. This is awesome package
that gets its musical worthy final in Tormentor.
But the DVD has still more to offer. Niels Folta is responsible
for the documentation of The Past And Now. Several contemporary
witness of this event came in front of his cam. Besides a number
of gig retrospectives interesting information about the scene
in Eastern Germany are catered. Even though the die-hard stuff
had to organize in unimaginable ways by these guys, the politic
left them their freedom because they don’t know how to deal
with. The different countries can take leaf out of their book.
Maybe that’s the reason for the English subtitles?! ;-)
By the way, censorship is a neat bridge to the KREATOR
horror movie Hallucinative Comas – Director’s
Cut. Also this one was releases in VHS back in 1991 but this version
awards the FSK 18 state. This short horror movie that was originally
released to promote Coma Of Souls, is fitted by
the scenes cut by censors than. Exaggerated in my opinion, after
all, this movie is no more than a music video that tells the story
of Dr. Wagner between four tracks. Not really bloodthirsty but
we are 17 years later in time.
This KREATOR package is a must have for those of you, who
were part of it but never saw had the VHS tapes. But not only
the die-hard fans should heat their DVD-player, this piece of
German music history has to be spread broader.
