You never
know what you get with a KMFDM album. In a more
than 20 years spanning history and 20(!) album releases there
was some crap in between (“the worst band in the world”
eh?). After WWIII (2003) was unbelievably
angry but still well-done musically, Hau Ruck,
released in September 2005, was a little gentler. Unpredictable
rage got replaced by the “don’t nag, tackle”-slogan.
Now, with Ruck Zuck, the obligatory
attendant EP got released, offering 7album remixes (whereas Mini
Mini Mini is a cover too), a cover version of DAF’s
Der Mussolini and a to date unreleased track (Ansage
– with PeeWee Vignold on words).
While Free Your Hate comes as a familiar crushing Industrial
version (Käpt’n K. itself has done), Mini Mini
Mini (of French chansonnier Jacques Dutronc) appears as a
jazz-like but freaky swing version. For Real Thing and
Ready To Blow (with oriental touch) Sascha used the mixing
skills of Nude & Blag of the Dwarfs, who replaced the industrial
with heavy electro beats. Likewise Hau Ruck works; another
Käpt’n K. output.
Ruck Zuck is – as we know from
Mr. Konietzko – value for money. Those who liked the album
can grab a copy of this EP unconsidered.
