It's been
a long time that I've been receiving news from KAPITULATION
BONN. Six years have gone by since the last full release
Blut.
So, finally I am listening to the new CD Helden,
and fortunately some things never change.
All well-known trademarks – fast punkrock songs with a slight
metal influence, catchy tunes, provoking vocals and critical lyrics
can surely be found on the new release, but especially the last
point - the statements - differs from former stuff: All in all
it's more global, a bit more subtly and more intelligent than
before.
Songs like Willkür, the great ear catcher White
House, Erfahrungswerte (great lyrics) and the intimate
Freunde won't leave your brain that fast. But the definite
highlight is Wüstensohn, and I presume to designate
that song as one of the best KAPITULATION BONN
songs that has ever been written, of course beside the punkrock
hymn Der Pazifist.
Well done, gentlemen.
This may indemnify for some not so good songs like Macht,
Wohlstandskinder or Herz.
In all Helden is an important statement
in a crazy time full of Dieter Bohlens and other jackasses.
