Like on every predecessor KALMAH unleash sonic hell again and light a firework of melodic chords, steam hammer sound and catchy refrains on their latest effort For The Revolution.
The opening title track For The Revolution stays in mind without fail and at the latest after second chorus every Metal fan will raise his fist towards the sky yelling the intense sing along part. Antti and Pekka Kokko conjure fantastic guitar melodies into every song, the two guitar wizards are the main creative forces in KALMAH. Concerning creativity: I want to bestow this attribute to the easy going drums work, contributing a lot of penetration power to the compositions. After the first hammer did crush me down, the band performs in more calm, nearly reflective manner, using some keyboard elements. If anyone is in anxiety now, the cutting riffs and rough but in no way overacted brutal vocals hold the aggression’s level moderately high during Dead Man’s Shadow. Afterwards a typical sing along chorus ameliorates Holy Symphony Of War, ere Wings Of Blackening combines catchy rhythms with fast-as-an-arrow solos in its intense style missing out a sensational chorus unfortunately, but offering many anthem-like guitar sounds. Finally (I nearly sigh) KALMAH slow down speed and the almost overstrained listener may catch breath during Ready For Salvation boosting the CD’s dynamics with a borne facet. The seventh song Outremer is the masterpiece of composing by the Finns, because this oeuvre offers a guitar melody for eternity! This track is an anthem and will enthuse every fan of impelling music full of melodies! In contrast the two following songs Coward and Like A Slave (the guitars saw without end!) lose a little bit of extravagancy, but I do not want to badmouth these two cool pieces.
For The Revolution is rounded off by a powerful sound bringing all nuances of KALMAH’s sound to the fore in transparent manner. Over and above the cover artwork knows to elate with some for the band exceptional colors. Melodies, intensity and at least Metal in abundance – KALMAH unleash hell! And don’t forget to check the direct hit Outremer!!!
