From time
to time a band releases an album that fits my personal taste such
perfectly like Bliss Of Solitude by Swedish Doomsters
ISOLE. Everything matches: right doses of melancholy, endearing
melodies, partly choral-like, partly accusing, wonderfully elaborated
vocal arrangements and at least an enormous portion of powerful
Metal! The two guitarists Daniel and Crisper are responsible for
the vocal performance; both are endued with a gorgeous organ.
Additionally drummer Jonas plays perfectly dosed double bass attacks
hitting every Doom fanatic’s heart like hammer strokes.
Formidable: the gentle beginning, calm augmenting Imprisoned
By Sorrow; in the song’s middle the speed is throttled
down to zero, the voice gets slightly distorted, ere daunting
drum beats end the silence and change the sentiment’s course
immediately preparing for the next beloved double bass adoption.
ISOLE juggle with floating changeovers from blue funk heaviness
over mid tempo darkness to hefty elements. Excellent acoustic
guitar interplays contribute additional beauty to the compositions.
Furthermore the refrain of the track Aska lets me melt
away, ere the variable Dying turns me into an ISOLE
adept irrevocably because of its augustness and harshness at the
same time.
Finally, to put the cherry on the cake, Bliss Of Solitude
was wrapped into earthy sound vesture, which delights my ear in
transparent and bass dominated style. The group afforded best
work in the home recording temple called Studio Apocalypse.
ISOLE enthuse me in similar manner as the grandiose Funeral
with their marvelous work From These Wounds in prior year –
2008 starts brilliantly for all lovers of extra-class musical
tardiness!
