After
a nice but depressing intro follows an also depressing mid-tempo
opener called Helplessness - nearly like older Neurosis.
Followed by Making Up For Lost Time, a track very fast
in the beginning, slowing down during the length of the track and
with interesting parts and a nice guitar solo. Fine but does not
fit to the first one. The third track I Deviant seems to
be more than a harder mainstream one with clean vocals. Fine melodic
guitars. From the fourth track up to the end it’s just Hardcore.
Well done but without any further highlights. It’s a shame.
This album started quite diversified but ended nearly boring. Not
that the hardcore parts are bad, but a little different tracklist
would have been better. Maybe INSENSE should not
have shot all the guns in the beginning of Soothing
Torture. No matter it is a good album anyway. |
