IN FLAMES - Reroute To Remain
Label: Nuclear Blast
Release: 2nd September 2002
By: Burning1
Points: 6

A new well promoted album Reroute To Remain from the famous IN FLAMES has reached the surface. It's already their 6th full album, so these guys already left their mark on the metal scene. Previous albums like Whoracle and Jester Race deserve a place in every CD collection!

Now to Reroute To Remain… Every album, IN FLAMES seems to give away some of their melodic capacity… and so they have done on this album. Colony was already a Whoracle-wannabe.. and you really don't want my opinion about Clayman! This album really has nothing refreshing, every song already has been heard. If you've just started to listen to IN FLAMES, you might enjoy it. But if you've followed the band right from the start... another disappointment approaches. Where are those acoustic parts, like you guys could deliver in the past? The only light points to me are track 7 (Dawn Of A New Day) and track 13 (Metaphor). Those 2 actually are acoustic songs with a nice structure, which reminds me to Amorphis (ever heard My Kantele?).

So after breaking this album… why do they still get a 6? Because at least they are IN FLAMES, good musicians and the sound quality is perfect! If you're new to them.. give them a try, I don't stand up for anyone's opinion. Just not my cup of tea!
