When I came across HYPERIALs latest effort Industry I was blown away by its boisterous energy and blistering power. This EP is an incredible force!
Industry excellently blends blackish-tinged Death Metal, an utmost ass-kicking groove, cold industrial-themed electronics in a Fear Factory style, racy blast parts, progressive breaks and mesmerizing soundscapes. Done in a modern and nonchalant way, and forged by a brutal and intense production. All perfectly balanced and self-released. My hats off!
Industry touches upon a number of familiar reference points without actually sounding like any of those references. Much more HYPERIAL have already developed an own and likewise idiosyncratic style within their just six years spanning band history with a demo, a debut, compilation contributions and this EP up their sleeves. HYPERIAL do not sound like Behemoth; they do not sound like any other Polish Death Metal band or anyone else from this genre.
And it seems it runs in their blood as the debut Sceptical Vision already offers this high level of quality too. Industry is just the next step in the band’s evolution, seeing songs, sounds and structures more sophisticated.
I’d like to highly recommend the tracks Rotted Society and the title track Industry for a first try, as they grow to real groove and mosh monsters. But the general order is to listen to Industry in a whole. It’s an excellent 23 minutes blast of pure Death Metal furiousness.
And now I’m highly excited about the sophomore, tentatively titled Blood And Dust, which will be recorded in January 2014. |
