HOLLENTHON? It seems to be a completely new and unknown band, but behind this name you find the new project of Martin Schirenc, former member of Austrias most famous Death Metal band Pungent Stench. Starting as a Black Metal project, called "Vuzem", Martin splitted more and more apart from any known style and created his own with HOLLENTHON. It's impossible to put Domus Mundi into an existing category, every song seems to be influenced by another country and another theme, the whole CD is like a journey to several parts of the world and the history of Metal. Maybe "Ethno-Metal" could be a description that fits a bit, allthough this word sounds a bit too soft for the music. Starting with Enrapture - Hinc Illae Lacrimae , which seems to be influenced by Morbid Angel a bit, you hear at once that Martin didn't lose anything of his hard side. The sound quality of the album is unbelievably good if you keep in mind that it was recorded in his sleeping room... good music doesn't need expensive equipment. With his wife Elena he found the ideal person to write the lyrics, which back up the experimental music in a perfect way.. Vestige - Non Omnis Moriar (Not everything on me will die) is a song dedicated to the Sioux-Indians and the tragedy of Wounded Knee in South Dakota , Premonition - Lex Talionis (the law of retaliation) is about the crimes done by organised religion.. and these aren't all of Elena's qualities... to some songs like Eclipse - Vita Nova, which is about her feelings towards the painting of Pieter Breughels Triumph Of The Death she gives a personal touch with her wonderful voice. HOLLENTHON (the name is taken from a small village in Austria) are just striking out with their originality and their unique style. And you shouldn't forget to visit to their webpage at www.hollenthon.com where, next to all the infos you want to know about the band, you can find a very special tour through Martin's Hometown Vienna. Domus Mundi - The House Of The World ... just a real masterpiece.
