Just in time. A new HELLOWEEN album coming out almost on their names day. About two years after the last appearance of the pumpkin-heads with their controversial 3rd part of the keeper story HELLOWEEN are back with Gambling With The Devil. What should I say? These guys know how to do it. Better said, how to do it again. OK, Keeper 3 wasn’t really shit, but it was not the same level then Time Of The Oath or The Dark Ride. OK, we will never forget the true Keeper…times, but still the guys around Weiki have a right to be on the top level of the metal world. And exactly that’s what the Hamburger city guys claim with the new album. Kill It is surely not one of the best songs to open, but with The Saints and the single As Long As I Fall the direction is clear. Typical HELLOWEEN-like guitars and songwriting make absolutely clear that this comes from the family of Curcubitaceae. The vocals are sometimes quite experimental, but nevertheless Andy Deris can be figured out. Especially in hits like Fallen To Pieces. This album doesn’t need many words. Good, typically HELLOWEEN and a “must have” for every fan of Heavy Metal. For further confession I recommend the songs mentioned above and the last track Dreambound.
