A prime example of a release without ANY sense is this MCD of HATESPHERE. One new song, two cover versions and 4 live tracks. Beg my pardon but what the f*** does this aim for? Compared to such crap even the obligatory Vader-eps after every official album seem to be a favor virtually since they always offer at least several studio songs and Japan bonus tracks. What we have here, however, is rip-off of the worst kind and the cheapest form of putting out a bridging to the next studio album. In order not to only run down this MCD I must make allowances that the Danes' new song Release The Pain absolutely shows qualities and kicks ass. The ones who have heard the quintet already will know what expects them: Death/Trash reminding of old Soilwork (with less melody). However, as for the rest the Ozzy-cover-version of Bark At The Moon already borders on to blasphemy while the Anthrax-cover of Caught In A Mosh passes by without any spectacular highlights. The four live-tracks are presented in good quality but are the last reason for buying this output.
Even if it seems a bit unfair, there’s only one thing I can recommend: download Release The Pain and forget the rest!
